Depression

More than the passing “blues,” 16 million adults in the U.S. experience some type of depressive disorder that saps pleasure, overturns sleeping habits and creates despair and hopelessness. But it can be treated.

CBT, medication or a combination of both has provided successful treatment outcomes. It is necessary to begin treatment when symptoms first occur. Mood disorders often begin in adulthood, especially for women. The treatment goal is symptom remission (not just feeling better but feeling good) so that people fully return to work, play and relationships.
